Please give us some feedback!

As you may know, we are planning many changes and improvements at Austin O’Brien High School. These changes include:

  • Renovation of the Fitness Centre and addition of new equipment
  • Mural painted on Gym wall
  • Upgrading of CTS lab (completion Fall 2012)
  • Installation of Wireless “Cloud” network

We would like to continue to improve our school as we continue to venture into the 21st century.

April News

Dear AOB Students and Parents!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break! March was a fantastic month with our Open House. Special thanks to all students who provided leadership at this event to make it such a huge success! Our students and staff were proud to showcase the many wonderful programs going on at AOB!

April is reporting month. Parents can access report cards on line on Power School on Thursday April 5th. There are no scheduled interviews this term, but parents can request conferences at any time with teachers and are encouraged to do so. We have moved to electronic report cards to be more environmentally friendly and to ensure that everyone receives information in a timely manner.

April is the month of the Arts. Our drama department is busy preparing for our annual drama production, “Pump It Up!” which will run April 25-28th at the school. More information re performances will be posted on our website. A portion of our proceeds this year will be donated to the Youth Emergency Shelter.  Congratulations to our Concert Ensemble for an outstanding performance at the Winspear on March 19th. Many of our music and drama students will be travelling to Los Angeles in May to perform and participate in workshops at various highs schools and theatres.

In house registration will continue during the month of April. Please spread the word that AOB continues to accept registrations for grades 10 through 12. We wish all of our AOB families a Joyous Easter Season May the passion and Resurrection of Christ inspire us to be light to one another in our Austin O’Brien School community!

Congratulations to our junior and senior basketball teams who ended the year with a great display of effort and improvement! Our CHEER teams are in the midst of their season competitions and working hard to demonstrate their talent throughout the province! Way to go Crusaders!!

Through our daily reflection and prayers this Lenten season, we engage in opportunities for renewal and reflection. During Lent our students and staff continue to offer their generosity to others less fortunate, and to make a difference in the local and global community. Our faith calls us to experience a conversion of the heart, and to reach out to those who suffer from hunger, disease, and civil war.

March 24- April 2 is Spring Break. We wish all of our students a restful and rejuvenating spring break and hope that they return to face the challenges and excitement the last three months has to offer!
