MESSAGE FROM THE ADMIN TEAM – POWERSCHOOL

PowerSchool_Logo

Hello Parents and Students,

As you may know, we unfortunately lost data from our PowerSchool data base toward the end of last semester. This data included student course marks.  We were able to restore the data to a backup server and we finished the semester using that server.  The grades have now been uploaded to the regular PowerSchool server (https://powerschool.ecsd.net) and they are accurate. The only drawback is that when you click on a mark, you will not see a complete history of scores that produced the final grade. If you wish to find out individual assessment (assignments/tests) scores, please contact the teacher directly.

It is great to know that students and parents are checking PowerSchool regularly…we thank you for your support and apologize for any inconvenience caused by this unfortunate data loss.

Dear AOB Students and Parents!

As we move closer to the end of the year this is a very exciting time for everyone at Austin O’Brien.  Congratulations to our drama students who had a fantastic showing in the Drama Production “Pump Up the Volume!” Many thanks to our awesome Mr. Zyp and his crew for organizing this fantastic showcase of talent! The special talents of our Geek Squad also made our production a huge success.

As the weather gets warmer we remind students to be mindful of their attendance. The last couple months of the school year can be the most challenging. It is a time of review and preparation for finals, so we encourage students to get lots of rest and stay healthy during this busy time.

Best wishes to our music and drama students who are travelling to Los Angeles CA to audition at Disneyland and participate in several drama related workshops. AOB students will be visiting Mater Dei High School for a workshop and performance opportunity.

Students taking Advanced Placement courses will be writing exams May 9, 10 and students in the Spanish Bilingual Program will be taking the DELE language proficiency examinations on May 25th.

Congratulations to our Grade 12 students who are graduating from Austin O’Brien this year and moving on to new challenges. Thank you to the Class of 2012 for the many contributions you have made to make Austin O’Brien a better place over the past three years. We will miss you!

Through our daily reflection and prayers this Lenten season, we engage in opportunities for renewal and reflection. During Lent our students and staff continue to offer their generosity to others less fortunate, and to make a difference in the local and global community. Our faith calls us to experience a conversion of the heart, and to reach out to those who suffer from hunger, disease, and civil war.

March 24- April 2 is Spring Break. We wish all of our students a restful and rejuvenating spring break and hope that they return to face the challenges and excitement the last three months has to offer!
